Our company history
In 1947, Dr. Ignaz Fiala founded the insurance office named after him. He recognized the need for a separate insurance for forwarding and transport companies. The forwarding insurance certificate (SVS) still serves as proof of insurance coverage during the organization of the transport.
Major Austrian insurance companies have joined forces to form the SVS insurance pool. Dr. Ignaz Fiala was entrusted by this community with central contract administration and claims processing and has since made a name for himself in the industry.
In the following years, the forwarding industry developed dynamically and brought new requirements. Carrier liability insurance (long-distance freight insurance, later also called CMR insurance) became increasingly important.
For two generations, the successful insurance office was owned by the family. In 2013, it was sold to three of the pool insurers involved (Allianz Elementar Versicherungs-AG, Wiener Städtische Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG and UNIQA Sachversicherungs-AG). The company name was retained.
In 2019, the ownership circumstances changed. In the new split, 49% is attributable to Wiener Städtische Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG, 49% to UNIQA Versicherungen AG and 2% to Fiala Management.
In addition to the three owners, Helvetia Schweizerische Versicherungsgesellschaft and Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherungs-AG are also involved as risk carriers and insurers, respectively.
For you as the policyholder, this ensures sufficient security in the event of a claim.
